Up-and-Over Doors
There are two types of Up-and-Over door:

1. Canopy mechanism
The door simply pivots within the frame, with about one third projecting forward of the frame, when the door is open.
Advantages:
Simplest door to install. Usually cheapest to buy.
Disadvantages:
Can be unreliable if fitted with remote control.

2. Retractable mechanism
The door swings out further, on opening, then back along tracks fitted to the ceiling, almost fully under the roof, when open.
Advantages:
Smoother, lighter action than Canopy type. Safer - no projection forward of the garage when open. Ideal for fitting with remote control.
Disadvantages:
Gives slightly less mirror width than a Canopy type.
